Statement Skirts- 4 ways to style them

Hello my dear Fashion readers,

Hope you guys had a blasting blast at New Year’s Eve! And since we all have started our year with full enthusiasm and positivity, let’s add one more resolution to your list that is to be more experimental when it comes to fashion. Why not make our own statement style, to try something different and extremely fashionable in our terms.

STATEMENT SKIRTS! Yes this time its all about uniqueness and individuality. It’s the way you look, the way you act and the way you live. Its something that breaks the monotony of life.

One of the most glaring drawbacks for buying a statement skirt is the fear you will never find anything to pair it with, except for that black tee (snooze)…I know that is the safest option. These types of purchases can be tough to justify- that is, if you don’t have an arsenal of styling tips to back up the splurge. So, I have put together a four-part cheat-sheet on how to wear your statement skirt week- round; from office to a cocktail party to a weekend hangout to a shopping day. Now it won’t only look good in your closet, but it will actually get mileage, too.

This season my favorite statement skirt is this metallic pleated one from Zara, which is now on sale. I love this skirt because of the metallic fabric which is super trendy right now and it stands out in its own. You can style it up as per your statement style.

Let’s see how to make it worth the splurge-

PARTY LOOK

The first look is very fancy, great for a cocktail parties. I chose this mock-neck teal top to team it up with the statement skirt as it’s not that flashy to wear it with a metallic skirt and neither too casual for a party. The silhouette and fabric of this top makes it look formal, perfect for a party! To make the outfit dressier I accessorized it with bold neck piece, gold watch and bracelet. Also, I completed the look by adding black block heels and black sling or a clutch.

SHOPPING LOOK

This outfit has got to be one of my favorite fall ensembles yet! The olive basic top perfectly complements this skirt as the skirt is tinged with metallic olive which creates a perfect contrast in the outfit. To give an instant weather protection I styled it up with a beige colored suede jacket. I completed the look with tan ankle strap sandals and gold boxy bag. For bit chilly weather you can team it up with ankle boots.

WEEKEND LOOK

I styled the skirt casually with a grey graphic tee and my super comfortable white slip-ons. To make the look more casual and sporty, I added a tan belt which is matching with the skirt, a leather strap pendant and a white silicon strap MEN’s watch (hahaha….yaa you can also try).

FORMAL LOOK

Usually at work, I guess we all get bored wearing jeans/ pants and shirts. We always looks for something cool and bright just get rid of the stress and feel fresh for a good start! We can definitely try a statement skirt to work, the only key to make it look formal is to keep the top and layering very subtle.

For the ultimate touch of sophistication I chose to wear skin fit sea green lace top with a elegant pair of nude heels and silver watch.

This is a very fresh look that feel both modern and work-appropriate.
